Music

Music has always had an important role in my life, I live for music, I live of music. My dream is to go to Glasgow and partecipate to all the gigs in town. I love mainly english music, but scottish music sounds more genuine to me than british music. It's more imperfect but 8 times out of 10 arrives to my heart easily. Some British bands seem to be immediately perfect, they need no changes. Super players playing in super groups, and in the moment the band splits up mainly none of the ex-members does a good job alone.
Scottland is giving birth to many interesting bands. My favourite one? With no doubt Franz Ferdinand. none of them is an excepional musician, I don't like all of their songs (their last album was in some ways disappointing) but I think that they are my favourite band ever, just because I'm able to listen to them over and over again. They put energy and passion in their work, they may not be the best musicians taken singularly, but all together they have a perfect sound.
The same thing may be said about the Irish band U2: Edge is not the best guitar player on earth, Larry Mullen is not the best drummer, Adam Clayton isn't the best bass player on earth, but all together U2 is the hugest rock band on Earth now. U2 made some of the most enjoiable songs that ever have been invented.
Perfect bands are boring, I came across on TV of a live concert of a british band, they were good. My father, who was with me, said "this is a band that can play. The guitarist is good, the drummer can play drums and the bass player can play the drums." As we continued listening to the concert I understood one thing, I didn't like the band because they were too perfect so the song resulted boring.
I prefer by far a band like the Kooks, that can always make me smile.
