A fabulous party doesn't just happen, you first need to organize it. I love thematic parties so here there are some tips you may use at halloween, or just whenever you want.
1) Find the proper theme. It might soud a bit expected but this is the first step. I'll give you a couple of possibilities: "Twilight" theme, "80's" theme, "British Invasion" theme and the "Sixties" theme.
For "British Invasion" I mean music and dresses from the english style, for example indie music (the Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, Bombay Bycicle Club, Maroon 5 and of course Oasis) or punk music (Clash and Sex Pistols), and then dresses that are connected to the music style you've chosen.
2) You might have understood how music is important. well if you haven't I'll repeat, music is VERY IMPORTANT! Find your track list and put it on CDs, be sure to be able to find more than 20 songs, bacause if you repeat them it will be a bit boring.
3)Find some posters connected to your theme, it will be easier with the Twilight stuff, but do'nt worry about the other themes, you may not find a Libertines poster, but you might try with the Oasis, just because they are more famous. The best thing is to find one poster for every room, but it won't be a problem if you just have one or two for your room and the hall.
4) Now that you've found your theme, provide yourself with soft drinks, water, french fries and so on, be sure that there is enough of everything for everyone!!
5) Send your invitations one week before the party so that people will be able to provide themselves with the thematic costumes early enough and they won't just run from a shop to another to find the right dresses.
Extra points if you send paper invitations and not just text messages, you do not need to buy 20 little cards, you may just print some photos from the internet showing your theme* and write on the back all the informations needed.
* print a photo of Edward and Bella, or of Sex Pistols or Beatles, or just some logos of the bands.
